Bivio Networks, a leader in networking systems for deep packet inspection (DPI)-enabled applications and services essential for network security, visibility, control and monetization, today announced it has appointed Andy Lovit as its vice president of worldwide field operations. Lovit will lead Bivio Networks global sales and field operations efforts as the company continues its rapid expansion in the deployment of DPI appliances for network equipment manufacturers, independent software vendors, government agencies and service providers.

"As a seasoned network systems sales executive for TANDBERG Television, Paradyne and 3Com, Andy brings a robust understanding of our market and customer needs," said Elan Amir, president and chief executive officer of the company. "Bivio continues to expand its global presence, fulfilling worldwide DPI product demand by providing the only standard Linux-based equipment that simplifies and speeds the development and deployment of a wide range of DPI-enabled applications. Andy's notable sales and leadership experience will be invaluable for Bivio as we continue to expand our global presence and build our footprint in the ISV, carrier and government markets."

Bivio's network appliance platforms combine the industry's most powerful deep packet inspection capabilities with a scalable architecture and Linux-based software platform. Deep packet processing decreases the cost of developing and delivering security, VoIP, traffic management and application acceleration solutions while achieving increases in performance.

"I am thrilled to join Bivio Networks, the market leader of DPI networking systems," said Andy Lovit. "It is exciting to work with this excellent leadership team as we continue to rapidly accelerate our DPI appliance sales and expand Bivio's overall market position."
