AT&T to Distribute Move Networks’s Video Content
Move Networks, a US-based provider of internet television services, has certified AT&T’s content distribution network to deliver Move-enabled video content to companies and their end-users.
According to AT&T, with the ability to deliver Move-enabled content, it is adding capability to respond to customers’ need to cope with the demand for graphics and video-intensive multimedia content, computing technologies and the need to deliver to multiple devices including digital signage, PCs and smart wireless devices.
AT&T also reaffirmed its plans to complete deployment of nearly $70 million in network infrastructure and development investment by end of 2008 to support its digital media capabilities across the US, Europe (European Union countries) and Japan, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan within Asia.
Cathy Martine, executive vice president for content distribution at AT&T, said: “Today, approximately 40% of AT&T’s total network backbone traffic is video. A mere three years ago, video traffic on our network was negligible. Customers now have more choices in advanced devices and services, and expect more in terms of mobility, interactivity and access to content than ever before.”
