Sky Perfect, usen Tie Up on Video Content Distribution

Tokyo, Sept. 16 (Jiji Press)–Japan’s Sky Perfect Communications Inc. said Tuesday it has agreed with usen Corp. to distribute its video content via usen’s optical fiber cable network.

Sky Perfect will offer programs aired on its Sky PerfecTV! satellite television broadcasting service, as well as other video content, through the usen network.

As part of the tie-up deal, Sky Perfect will provide 500 million yen in fresh capital to U’s Communications Corp., a usen unit and Type-I communications carrier with its own network, by accepting new shares to be issued by U’s Communications on Sept. 29.

Sky Perfect’s equity stake in U’s Communications will come to 1.3 pct following the investment.
