FoodNetwork.Com, the No. 1 Web Site in Food & Cooking, Unveils a Whole New Design Today
FoodNetwork.com has held the No. 1 spot in Nielsen’s Food & Cooking category for 26 straight months. Now, the site heads into the popular holiday season by unveiling a new chapter, an all-new FoodNetwork.com. The redesigned FoodNetwork.com is full of features asked for by its more than 9 million monthly visitors, such as easy-to-use navigation, a treasure trove of recipe ideas and meal planning inspiration, along with more ways to connect with Food Network’s all-star roster of chefs and shows. The new site is set to debut today, and involves the work of a 100+ member team, from product design and front-end development to back-end engineering. (http://www.foodnetwork.com)
“It is the one thing every single person needs to think about every day – how, what, when to eat,” says Deanna Brown, president of SN Digital, the interactive division of Scripps Networks. “FoodNetwork.com remains the leader because we put our user first and foremost in everything we do. We know that they love the bells and whistles, they love the talented personalities and the special occasion ideas, but at the end of the day they also want to put delicious food on the table that doesn’t break their back or the bank.”
FoodNetwork.com is the Web home of the most popular chefs and culinary experts on TV, from Alton Brown and Paula Deen to Rachael Ray and Bobby Flay. The Web site immerses fans in an interactive experience allowing them to help shape shows by weighing in on their favorite contestants for “The Next Food Network Star” or asking about their kitchen dilemmas for “Ask Aida;” bringing them closer to Food Network chefs with extensive photo and video galleries; and, of course, allowing them to look up and try the recipes they see demonstrated on TV.
“We’ve created a product that is a fresh, current everyday resource,” explains Marie Moxom, vice president and site director of FoodNetwork.com. “Users will continue to find high-quality recipes, plus even more inspiration and ideas – from photo and video galleries to easy search tools for instant menu options. We’ve also expanded our talent information and show interactivity. FoodNetwork.com is now truly the ultimate food fan experience.”
The Web site features video from Food Network shows as well as original video created for the site featuring recipe how-to, healthy eating inspiration, holiday ideas and even a Web series that goes behind the scenes of the shows and at the Food Network Kitchens. FoodNetwork.com also features commerce through the Food Network Store, operated by Cooking.com, with a premium selection of more than 20,000 cooking-related items; and mobile through both an iPhone application and mobile wireless application allowing smart phones to access thousands of recipes in the extensive Food Network library and highlighting seasonal food needs such as grilling or holiday.
Along with FoodNetwork.com, SN Digital owns and operates Recipezaar.com, a leading user-generated recipe site. Together the two sites capture 25 percent of users online searching for food-related information.
