UK News Bulletin: Concerts Planned to Fight Knife Crime
AN anti-knife initiative has been established that will see up to 90 music concerts arranged around the UK and Ireland.
The Knife Crime Awareness Tour 2008/09 aims to deliver its message through a series of concerts over the next 12 months.
The project’s co-founder, Aled Lewis, said the Damilola Taylor Trust has lent its support along with 250 bands who have pledged to provide their services for free.
Mr Lewis, 38, a music promoter, said, “I think music is the main way of getting the message across.”
A warm-up concert for the Knife Crime Awareness Tour has been arranged at the Windsor Club in Neathon November 1 with the official launch at the Welsh Assembly in Cardiff Bay a month later.
