Who’s Got Cutest Little Baby Face?
The 2007 competition had a record 1,875 entries and a total of 37,658 votes were registered - but this year's fun contest looks set to eclipse it.
If you think your baby has a winning smile, why not enter him or her into The Herald Baby of the Year competition?
The overall winner will receive a family minicruise to Santander in Spain with Brittany Ferries, the Baby of the Year 2008 trophy, plus a framed photo enlargement.
First-place winner in each age category wins a pounds25 voucher for a Build-A-Bear workshop experience, a pounds25 voucher to spend in Plymouth's Pumpkin Patch store, a trophy and a picture enlargement.
The runner-up in each age category will get a pounds10 Build-A- Bear voucher, a pounds15 Pumpkin Patch voucher, a trophy and a picture enlargement.
Third-placed child in each category will win a pounds10 Build-A- Bear voucher, pounds10 Pumpkin Patch voucher, a trophy and a picture enlargement.
Best of all, taking part couldn't be easier. Watch out for the entry forms which will be printed in The Herald from September 29, 2008. Complete the coupon, then take it, along with your child, to Drake Circus shopping mall in Plymouth between Monday, October 6, and Saturday, October 18, between 9.30am and noon, and 1.30pm and 4pm (excluding Sunday, October 12).
Professional photographers will be there to take a free photo sitting of your baby, plus you will also receive a free infant toy from baby product experts Sassy if your child is 18 months or under. This could be either a Boogie Board Buddies friendly turtle and hippo bathtime toy, a Rings Around Rattle or an over- the-shoulder teething bib.
Sassy offers a fun selection of award-winning toys, bathtime accessories and teething products that are created in partnership with developmental experts.
After that, parents must go along to The Herald's city-centre shop in Armada Way, or the paper's Derriford headquarters, to view and select the best picture of their baby to enter into the competition.
Entries, which will only be accepted with an entry form from The Herald, are completely free - but copies of your child's portrait will be available to buy from The Herald shop, the Derriford offices or online photosales at www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/photosales.
They will make great Christmas presents for the family.
Every picture entered will be printed in a supplement in The Herald in November, and readers will be invited to vote for their favourite tot.
The overall winner will be the child with the most votes.
