ADC (NASDAQ: ADCT)(www.adc.com), and Accedian Networks, a leading provider of Packet Performance Assurance (TM) solutions that enable wireless operators, service providers and cable MSOs to deliver carrier-grade, packet-based services, today announced that ADC has entered into an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Accedian Networks to offer Ethernet demarcation units as part of its LoopStar(R) product family. ADC will feature the LoopStar EtherNID(TM) product at the WiMAX World 2008 show in Chicago, September 30-October 2 in Booth 933.
Under terms of the agreement, Accedian Networks will supply equipment to ADC for wireless carriers and service providers worldwide.
The LoopStar EtherNID and MetroNID(TM) demarcation units provide a unique combination of advanced in-line performance monitoring, Ethernet service creation and standards-based operations, administration and maintenance (OAM) capabilities that simplify the deployment and assurance of carrier Ethernet services over any network. LoopStar EtherNID units are designed for installation at customer premises and cell sites, while the additional packet processing capabilities of the LoopStar MetroNID products make them ideal for deployment at cellular hubs, aggregation nodes, and inter-carrier hand-off points.
"Accedian Networks' award-winning solutions are built on an all-hardware architecture that allows service providers to introduce and assure high-performance, low-latency, revenue-driving Ethernet services backed by premium Service Level Agreements (SLAs)," said Patrick Ostiguy, founding president and CEO of Accedian Networks. "Our products' technical leadership is a natural fit with ADC's extensive complementary product line and international sales reach as a premier solutions provider. We are pleased to partner with ADC as they continue to deliver innovative solutions to their customers worldwide."
"These advanced demarcation units are an important addition to ADC's LoopStar product portfolio," said Jon Norton, vice president of Network Solutions for ADC. "These unique devices enable optimized and assured Ethernet services over multi-technology, multi-vendor and multi-carrier networks, allowing our customers to quickly and cost-effectively introduce carrier-grade mobile backhaul and business access services over existing networks. We are pleased to partner with Accedian Networks to offer this industry-leading solution to our customers."
