Apparent Networks Announces Participation in HP Developer and Solutions Partner Program

Posted on: Tuesday, 30 September 2008, 09:00 CDT

Apparent Networks announced today that it has joined the HP Developer and Solution Partner Program (DSPP). As a member of this program, Apparent Networks will work closely with HP to develop products that complement and integrate with the company's business technology optimization solutions.

As a member of the HP DSPP, Apparent Networks will offer customers enhanced visibility into the performance of their networks and network-dependent applications, enabling faster problem resolution and better management of their end users' quality of experience.

Apparent Networks provides customers with the unique capability to see and analyze entire network paths, including the segments that pass through service provider clouds or other third-party networks, without breaks or blind spots. Apparent Networks' flagship product, AppCritical, supports HP's extensive network management capabilities with an 'applications view' of network performance. This full-path analysis enables IT teams to determine exactly how a network and network-dependent applications are performing, and whether or not there are issues affecting application traffic and end users' quality of experience.

Apparent Networks' full-path analysis unlocks definitive performance and service quality information, which enables more-decisive problem solving. AppCritical gives enterprises and managed service providers a new, more effective way to gain insight into their networks and the applications that depend on them. It enables IT teams to track in real time the performance and service quality their networks are delivering -- not just their availability.

"Apparent Networks' solutions are designed specifically for large enterprises with complex and highly distributed networks," said Keith Bartlett, vice president of business development for Apparent Networks. "Our strategy is to make our unique, path-centric network management capabilities available to customers through HP's industry-leading management solutions. The HP DSPP provides the technical, sales and marketing support required to bring our innovative functionality to more enterprise customers in new, integrated solutions."

In addition to joint sales and marketing efforts, the early focus of the relationship is to integrate AppCritical with several of HP's Business Technology Optimization solutions. In the first of these integrations already underway, AppCritical is being integrated with HP Service Management Center solutions, specifically the Service Desk and Trouble Tix products. Other integrations of AppCritical are planned for HP OpenView and OpsWare products, which are part of HP's Network Management and Data Center Automation product lines.

"ISVs are often looking for new ways to help their customers and grow their business," said Kristy Ward, worldwide marketing and business development manager, Developer and Solution Partner Program, HP. "With membership in the HP DSPP, Apparent Networks can tap into our worldwide community to more easily develop and market offerings that work with HP's Business Technology portfolio."
