Divona Telecom, a satellite and WiMAX telecom operator, has selected Juniper Networks MX-series ethernet services routers to create a high-speed, service-enabling backhaul network to meet growing demand for its wireless broadband services portfolio.
The deployment is designed to address Divona's requirement to increase network capacity, reduce operational costs and accelerate the delivery of advanced fixed and mobile wireless broadband services to the operator's premium corporate customers, said Juniper Networks.
Juniper Networks said that based on its single-source Junos software, the MX-series delivers better port density, and provides high-performance, scalability and reliability, in a range of power- and space-efficient platforms.
The MX-series features fully redundant hardware, plus switch control board and routing engines to increase system availability. By providing a single common interface across a wide range of routing, switching and security platforms, Junos enables network administrators to efficiently configure and manage each feature across the network by providing a consistent set of tools to monitor, manage and update the network, added Juniper Networks.
Gert-Jan Schenk, senior vice president of operations for EMEA at Juniper Networks, said: "Both fixed-line and innovative wireless providers such as Divona Telecom are deploying service-enabling network infrastructures that enable them to expand and accelerate service model innovation. With a wireless backhaul network based on Juniper Networks MX-series, Divona Telecom can continue to monetize its network by rapidly introducing new services and driving down network operational costs."
