BANGKOK — Thai police arrested another leader of anti- government coalition People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) on Sunday morning, the second arrest of PAD leaders in three days.

PAD leader Chamlong Srimuang was arrested at an election booth at the Seth Sathien School in Dusit district, Bangkok when Chamlong went to cast the vote in the Bangkok governor election at 8:00 a.m. (0100GMT) as the polling station opened.

Chamlong was the second out of the nine PAD leaders to get arrested after Chaiwat Sinsuwong was netted at an expressway tollgate on Friday. (Thailand-Arrest)

WASHINGTON — The debate between Democratic Senator Joe Biden and Republican Alaska governor Sarah Palin drew a whopping audience of 69.9 million, becoming the most watched vice presidential debate in U.S. history.

According to Nielsen Media data, the debate set a new record for a VP debate, beating the previous high of 56.7 million viewers set by the VP debate between Democratic Rep. Geraldine Ferraro and then- vice president George H.W. Bush in 1984, the very first time of featuring a woman on a national ticket.

The Biden-Palin showdown also overshadowed their running mates’ first debate on Sept. 26 by 33.4 percent. (US–Debate)

LOS ANGELES — Internet giants Google Inc. and Yahoo Inc. have agreed to delay implementing an advertising partnership to give the U.S. Department of Justice time to finish investigating the proposed deal, said the San Francisco Chronicle on Saturday.

The decision marks an abrupt turnaround for Google CEO Eric Schmidt, who had recently said that he planned to start supplying ads to Yahoo’s search engine sometime in early October, even if federal regulators had yet to give their approval, according to the source. (US-Google-Yahoo-Partnership)
