Sun Microsystems Announces Appointment of Christine Bucklin As Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategic Planning
Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:JAVA) today announced the appointment of Christine Bucklin as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategic Planning, reporting directly to Jonathan Schwartz, Sun’s president and chief executive officer. In this position, Ms. Bucklin will manage Sun’s corporate operating system, and will be responsible for overseeing corporate planning and alignment.

Prior to joining Sun, Ms. Bucklin served as Chief Operating Officer at Internet Brands, Inc., a provider of media and e-commerce web sites. In her seven years there, Ms. Bucklin managed the company’s turn around, including the scaling and diversification of Internet Brands, which was originally founded as CarsDirect.com. Ms. Bucklin joined CarsDirect.com from Idealab, an Internet incubator, where she was an entrepreneur-in-residence. Prior to that, she spent over a decade with McKinsey & Company as management consultant and partner.
Ms. Bucklin holds an A.B. in mathematics from Dartmouth and holds an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
