Recycle Day to Benefit High School Band, Scholarship Program

RECYCLE DAY TO BENEFIT HIGH SCHOOL BAND, SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMROCKLAND - The Rockland High School Band will have its annual Recycle Day fund-raiser, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the high school parking lot.
Residents can dispose of appliances and electronics for a fee.
Proceeds will go to the purchase and maintenance of the band's musical instruments and scholarships for its members.
SCITUATE HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO HOLD FINAL OPEN HOUSE
SCITUATE - The Scituate Historical Society will hold the last open house tour of the year on Oct. 12.
Lawson Tower, The Cudworth House and Barn, and the Mann Farmhouse on Greenfield Lane will be open from 1 to 4 p.m.
The tour will be an opportunity to see Scituate's fall foliage from Lawson Tower and learn about the town's fascinating history at each site.
The Maritime and Irish Mossing Museum at 301 Driftway is open every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. The Scituate Lighthouse will not be open during this tour.
HINGHAM CHURCH FUNDRAISER TO AID HONDURAS MISSION
HINGHAM - The First Baptist Church in Hingham will have a fundraiser for an American Baptist Missionary project in Honduras, at 7 p.m. Saturday, at the Sons of Italy Hall, 88 Chief Justice Cushing Highway, Rte. 3A, in Hingham.
A group of people from the church travel regularly to Honduras with supplies and clothing to distribute in the country.
The missionary project has established new churches as well as a school.
The fundraiser will feature a live band, dancing and food.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students.

2 FLU SHOT CLINICS TO BE HELD AT DUXBURY SENIOR CENTER
DUXBURY - Flu shot clinics will be held at the Duxbury Senior Center from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday and from 5 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 13. The Senior Center is at 10 Mayflower St.

SCREENINGS AVAILABLE FOR CARVER CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
CARVER - Carver Public Schools Special Education Department has announced preschool screenings for children with possible special needs.
Parents who feel their preschooler, ages 2 1 /2 to 5 has special needs, can contact the preschool and schedule a screening.
Screenings are held on the first Wednesday of the month throughout the school year.
The remaining preschool screening schedule for 2008-2009 is as follows: Nov. 5, Dec. 3, Jan. 7, Feb. 4, March 4, April 1, May 6.
