CHANTILLY, Va., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Members of the media are invited to attend the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) Public Policy and Members Meeting from 15-17 October 2008 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, California.
IP addresses are the unique numbers computers and other electronic devices used to identify themselves and pass information over the Internet. With only 15% of the prevalent IPv4 address space remaining, the global Internet community is taking urgent action to ensure continued access to essential network services by implementing a newer version of addressing called IPv6. Other topics at the meeting will include Internet governance activities, Internet number resource statistics, and other technical and policy issues.
About 200 representatives from Internet Service Providers, corporations, governments, academia, and civil society will attend ARIN XXII in Los Angeles for three days of meetings on technical and policy issues that will help shape the future of the Internet.
15-17 October 2008, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily
Millennium Biltmore Hotel
506 South Grand Avenue Los Angeles, CA
