HyperTransport Developers Conference Brings Together Industry Experts in Advanced Interconnect Design

Posted on: Tuesday, 14 October 2008, 09:00 CDT

Providing a forum for members to learn more about the industry's highest performance interconnect technology, the HyperTransport(TM) Technology Consortium today announced that its annual HyperTransport Technology Developers Conference will take place on Thursday, October 16, 2008, at the Santa Clara Marriott Hotel in Santa Clara, Calif. At the conference, commercial and academic members will present information on innovative HyperTransport solutions, while Consortium executive management will update attendees on HyperTransport technology progress and business opportunities.

"It's been a year of significant progress for the Consortium, having advanced HyperTransport technology by extending the performance and capabilities of the HyperTransport Link and HTX Connector specifications," said Mario Cavalli, general manager of the HyperTransport Consortium. "This year's conference gives us a forum for discussing these important milestones with existing and prospective members, while also providing participants with the opportunity to network and exchange information on existing and emerging HyperTransport implementations."

Presenting member companies and covered topics include:

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) - AMD, a Consortium founding member, will elaborate on its latest HyperTransport products and strategy.

Commex Technologies - Commex, a company dedicated to delivering intelligent, cutting-edge solutions for x86 multicore system performance and power optimization, will introduce its innovative, HTX-based, in-server routing processor technology targeting Web 2.0, application delivery controller (ADC), database, web caching, virtualization, and other 10G applications.

Numascale - Numascale, a Dolphin Interconnect Solution company, will introduce its innovative HTX-based NumaChip technology and its potential for shared-memory, scalable, virtualized systems.

RMI Corporation - RMI, a leading supplier of high-performance processors for communications and media, will present its HT-enabled XLR family of programmable, multi-threaded, content processors.

Samtec - Samtec, a leading manufacturer of high-performance printed circuit board interconnect and cabling solutions, will present its proposal for HT cabling and connector solutions.
