Teradata Selected By French Telecom Leader Bouygues for Real-Time Enterprise Data Warehouse

Teradata Corporation (NYSE: TDC), the global leader in data warehousing and enterprise analytics, announced today that Bouygues Telecom, the third largest wireless telecommunications operator in France, has selected Teradata for a real-time enterprise data warehouse (EDW). The system will transform customer information into enterprise intelligence to support marketing, sales, finance, fraud and insurance revenue processes.

The Bouygues Telecom data warehouse will meet many requirements with a focus on two primary needs. First, it will provide high-level business information required for strategic decision-making, and second, it will meet the need for real-time business information to support daily operations. To respond to this dual demand for information while meeting an increasing need for speed and flexibility, the telecom leader has developed an innovative “Data Lab” approach that yields incremental benefits from its EDW.

“Based on Teradata’s BI experience and our specific business challenges, we have created a centralized enterprise data warehouse. With support from this warehouse, the company’s various departments will be able to execute their processes and provide their services with greater speed and consistency,” said Francis Bernard, Director of Strategy, Research and Decision Supports at Bouygues Telecom.

Christophe Gervais, Data Lab & Business Intelligence Agility Manager for Bouygues Telecom, will be giving a presentation on this topic entitled “Data Lab: How to (Re)Conciliate an EDW Industrial Approach and Business Agility,” at PARTNERS, the Teradata User Group conference, on Monday, October 13 in Las Vegas.

Implementation began with the consolidation of vast amounts of customer data from numerous data marts into a central data repository, the Teradata Active Data Warehouse. Centralizing the enterprise data provides faster user access to information and an integrated view of customer relationship intelligence – which increases user insight for better decisions and marketing.
