Sylantro Systems and Ribbit Partner to Offer Rich Communications Applications for Business and Consumers
Sylantro Systems, the leading provider of multiplay application feature servers for converged communication applications, and Ribbit, Silicon Valley’s first phone company and now a part of BT, today announced they are partnering to integrate the Ribbit Platform with Sylantro’s Synergy Platform and Synapps Web Services. The joint solution will enable developers to create and monetize rich, powerful, Flash-based telephony applications more quickly and easily, bringing the innovation from Ribbit’s growing developer community to Sylantro-powered service providers.
Sylantro’s Synergy platform is a proven, carrier-grade feature server platform that is deployed at more than 95 key service providers worldwide. Sylantro’s Synapps Web Services layer already exposes rich APIs for developing powerful voice applications and incorporates simplified billing, provisioning and application tracking capabilities. The Ribbit platform is designed to allow third-party developers to bring together the richness of voice calling with Flash and Web 2.0 experiences. With Ribbit, voice can become a rich feature that can be added to any application, on any device, across any network. As an example, the Sylantro and Ribbit team are already demonstrating an integration of Ribbit’s powerful Ribbit-for-Salesforce application and the Ribbit Flash-based soft phone with Sylantro’s Synergy platform.
By partnering with Ribbit, Sylantro is demonstrating the openness of its Synapps Web Server and its ability to integrate with third-party platforms and services to deliver specialized voice and web applications to the end user and real revenue to the developer.
The Sylantro and Ribbit partnership is a result of a fundamental shift in the way operators and vendors look at infrastructure. Once silo-based and closed, telecom infrastructure is now emerging as an integrated communications network that allows developers and operators to tap into multiple network resources for granular and specialized applications development with minimal barriers to entry. At the foundation is a continuing maturation of the Application Feature Server capability based on standards-based SIP and Web Services.
“Sylantro recognizes that end-user focused applications are truly the key to operator success and the adoption of IP-based communications. By opening up the Synergy platform and partnering with Ribbit as a key partner within our Synapps Catalog, Sylantro is taking a critical step toward this end,” said Marco Limena, CEO of Sylantro Systems. “Furthermore, as a result of this partnership, Sylantro’s entire customer base will benefit from and take advantage of Ribbit’s existing innovative, Flash-based applications.”
“Developers require a market channel that will allow for the consumption of their applications in order to make their development costs and efforts worthwhile,” said Ted Griggs, CEO of Ribbit. “By partnering with Sylantro, we are giving developers a ready channel of consumers through Sylantro’s installed base of more than 95 service providers worldwide. In the end, this partnership will truly benefit operators, developers and end users alike.”
Sylantro and Ribbit will demonstrate this joint platform on Ribbit for Salesforce and other applications this week at the Sylantro Global Summit in Las Vegas.
