ooVoo’s New Mac Version Introduces Video Call Recording and Telephony to Its High Quality Video Communication Service

October 15, 2008

NEW YORK, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ — ooVoo, an innovator in the way people communicate with real-time video, today announced the availability of a new version of its high quality video chat software for Mac, ooVoo 1.5 for Mac, that allows multiparty video calls between Windows PC and Apple Mac computers. ooVoo 1.5 for Mac contains news features that include video call recording, calls to landline and mobile phones amongst others that enhance the communication experience.

Video call recording allows users to capture their video chats with other ooVoo users and share the file with friends via email, ooVoo file transfer, or by uploading to any of the social sharing sites that incorporate video including YouTube, MySpace and Facebook. The length of a recorded conversation is limited only by the storage capacity available on the hard drive of the user’s computer.

ooVoo Mac 1.5 users are also able to make calls to landline or mobile phones within U.S. and Canada, a great feature for calls where one participant is unable to be near a computer with a broadband connection. In addition, ooVoo users are able to host 12 person calls – six on video (ooVoo users on Mac or PC) and six by phone for audio only participation.

“We remain focused on connecting ooVoo’s users to their friends and family and to listening to their feedback and requests for features that help make their conversations even more meaningful and fun,” said Philippe Schwartz, CEO of ooVoo. “We have introduced this new Mac version less than 4 months after our first Mac release because we’re committed to developing our Mac platform and see great value in encouraging video conversations between PC and Mac users.”

ooVoo users who download ooVoo 1.5 for Mac will initially receive fifteen minutes of free outbound calls from ooVoo to any landline or mobile phone in the U.S. and Canada from anywhere in the world. In addition, Mac users will enjoy free six way video chats and video conversation recording until the end of 2008.

Additional features of ooVoo 1.5 include: -- Ability to import contacts from Yahoo!, Gmail, MSN Hotmail, AOL Mail, LinkedIn, ICQMail, and Mail.com. -- Conversation 'sidebar' window, allowing users to see their entire desktop during ooVoo video calls. ooVoo for Mac and Windows PC can be downloaded from http://www.oovoo.com/.
