Brad Greenspan’s Hupo TV, MOGO and UiTV Announce Major China Syndication Deal

October 16, 2008

BEIJING, Oct. 16, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Leading Chinese online video site Hupo TV and China web broadcast entertainment network MOGO announced today a syndication deal that will make MOGO’s extensive library of proprietary youth focused short form video content available on the Hupo TV website on a dedicated channel. MOGO has the largest Mandarin language proprietary short format video library in the world and produces over 150 original videos monthly.

Under the agreement with MOGO, Hupo TV’s website, www.hupo.tv, will feature a MOGO Entertainment Channel that will contain more than 2,300 Mandarin Chinese language short format videos that were produced by MOGO. These videos encompass youth focused subjects such as rock music, hip-hop, street fashion and youth lifestyle.

As part of the agreement, Hupo TV and MOGO will leverage the UiTV video distribution network to make more than 2,300 MOGO videos available to visitors of the Hupo TV website. UiTV is the operator of the largest Internet television distribution network in China. UiTV recently announced an agreement with the leading Chinese language Internet search provider, Baidu.com, Inc. (Nasdaq:BIDU) to operate Baidu’s Internet TV Channel. Baidu’s Internet TV Channel is separate from Baidu’s video search business. In August of this year Hupo TV and Baidu announced an exclusive agreement whereby Hupo TV provides exclusive video content, exclusive interviews and other content to the Baidu entertainment channel and video search business while Baidu will promote Hupo TV content to its users. Baidu and Hupo TV also agreed to collaborate on the promotion and covering of future online entertainment events.
