Advice Company Names Steven Lurie Chief Executive Officer

Advice Company today announced that Steven Lurie has been named President and Chief Executive Officer. Lurie succeeds the founder, Gerry Goldsholle, who was named Chairman.

A recognized technology business leader, Lurie brings more than 15 years of Internet and software experience to Advice Company, whose marquee site is www.FreeAdvice.com.

“Steven is exactly the right leader for Advice Company,” said Goldsholle. “His extensive background and vision for the potential of the Internet fit Advice Company’s mission to provide consumers access to quality advice. His strong management experience will help continue our growth. Furthermore, his legal training at Harvard Law School complements our focus on legal information and attorneys.”

Lurie is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School, with over a decade of experience at Microsoft and venture-backed start-ups including as an early executive at Ingenio, the pay-per-call pioneer acquired by AT&T’s YellowPages.com. Most recently, Lurie worked at MHS Capital, a venture capital fund backed by the founders of PayPal and executives at Google.

Prior to forming Advice Company, Goldsholle was CEO of MetLife’s MetLife Marketing Corporation. A graduate of William & Mary, Columbia Law School and Stanford Business School’s Executive Program, he also has chaired committees of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and the New York City Bar Association.
