Canadian security officials are investigating a Quebec man’s Internet posting calling on al-Qaida to stage terror attacks in Canada.

The message was posted on an Islamist Web site on Sept. 25 and found by the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors such sites, the National Post reported Friday.

Under the pseudonym Altar, the man said he is a Sunni Muslim who lives in Quebec.

“Me, I live in Canada and the Canadian government supports the Americans. The government of Canada supports Israel. Canadian soldiers are sent to Afghanistan and Iraq. Now it’s Canada’s turn,” the message said.

The message praised fugitive al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden and questioned why terror attacks were focusing mainly on Europe and excluding Canada, the report said.

“I want to chase the non-Muslims from Canada. Only their deaths will make Islam triumphant,” the message said.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police declined to comment on their investigation, the Post said.
