Gideon Bierer Appointed Executive Vice President of Digital Media for MTV Networks International

NEW YORK and LONDON, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- MTV Networks International (MTVNI), a unit of Viacom Inc. , today announced that Gideon Bierer has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Digital Media for MTVNI. Bierer will continue reporting to Robert Bakish, President of MTV Networks International based in New York.
In his expanded role, Bierer will oversee MTVNI's Digital Media business for all online and mobile properties and will drive the company's overall Digital Media strategy, including creating world class content based on MTVNI's portfolio of global hit franchises, building technology platforms to bring best-of-breed experiences to MTVNI's consumers and forming strategic partnerships with major industry players in the digital arena. Bierer will continue to work closely with MTVN U.S. Digital Media to develop strategic digital plans in order to ensure worldwide synergies.

Bierer has led the company's digital team since 2005. Amongst his achievements have been the international development and launch of multiple international Viacom websites, significant increases in revenue, innovation in digital advertising, and the emergence of MTVNI as one of the leaders in mobile content. As a result of MTVNI's 90 deals with operators, its services are now available to 1.2 billion subscribers around the world.
Prior to joining MTVNI, Gideon served as Senior Vice President, International Strategy and Business Development for MTV Networks. Prior to that, he was Vice President, Global and Wireless for Bolt, Inc. where he ran the international and mobile businesses.
