New Internet Exploration Product, ‘YouBundle’ to Debut As a Coveted Finalist at Consumer Electronic Show Prequel, I-Stage
YouBundle, the next generation of search and exploration on the internet has announced its debut to general audiences on October 20th as a part of its finalist presentation to the Consumer Electronics Association's (CEA) i-Stage, a new technology event designed to uncover the most innovative consumer products coming to market.
CEA, the industry's leading association of consumer electronics companies with more than 2,200 members, will have more than 400 top retail, manufacturing and service provider executives on hand for the forum. The ultimate i-Stage winner will receive $50,000, plus a turn-key booth at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world's largest tradeshow for consumer technology held on Jan. 8-11, 2009.YouBundle empowers users to explore, collect, link, post and ultimately "rate" information bundles containing rich media sources such as videos, photos, and documents on any subject they have a passion to explore, or expertise to share. Unlike other major players serving similar needs, such as traditional search engines, Mahalo, Squidoo and the on-line encyclopedia Wikipedia, YouBundle allows users to share their subjective view and empower the community with the tools to expose the best information on the Web.
"We built YouBundle to speed up the generation of useful, expert information that can often be difficult to find, as they are often saved in an expert's personal bookmarks on or offline, rather than the first page result of traditional search engines," explains founder Neyma Jahansooz. "This is the next vertical generation of rich media social bookmarking. Users can make bundles on their expertise including sites, photos, videos, and more. Community members can then view and rate bundles, evolving them to become an extremely sophisticated information resource."
Evolution of Web Surfing to Practical Application
"Web 2.0 enabled users to produce as well as consume data, which has in turn led to the dual terms of both 'information explosion' and 'information overload,'" YouBundle CEO Jahansooz said. "Everyone knows that the information you want on any given subject is out there -- but how do you explore your areas on interest and find what's relevant to your needs beyond the somewhat sterilized machine generated search results? This is precisely why we built YouBundle."
YouBundle has significant advantages over competitive offerings:
-- Bundles rather than Bookmarks: Easy yet powerful adding and sorting of rich media from web pages, Flickr, YouTube, Metacafe, Vimeo and documents into hyper-niche Bundles.
-- Tagging: Users can tag other bundles to add a depth of relevance and exploration to new and existing information.
-- Easy Bundler Bookmarklet: Users to can add links to their Bundles while browsing the web without the need to visit the site.
-- Link Suggestions: Users can suggest links to other bundles, spreading their knowledge to those who've already created bundles on their passion.
-- Embedded Bundle Widget: Allows web site owners and bloggers to easily port a mini version of any bundle to their site via a widget, giving them an evergreen source of updated content.
-- XML Data Feed: To allow developers to process and mashup raw Bundle data to create powerful applications.
-- Internal Content & analysis system: Contextual system that analyzes the content of the Bundle and displays relevant content and products that would be of interest to the user.
