United Nations organization has selected Global Telecom & Technology to provide wide area network solutions to numerous locations across the Middle East and Europe.
The multi-year, multi-million dollar contract calls for Global Telecom & Technology (GTT) to deploy a MPLS-based network to interconnect several key UN office locations in Israel, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Italy, and Switzerland. GTT will integrate this WAN solution with United Nations's (UN) existing very small aperture terminal (VSAT) network.
In addition to providing the UN with additional bandwidth and network intelligence, GTT will supply, install, and manage the network equipment to support each accompanying UN site. This UN subsidiary provides direct relief and works programs for Palestinian refugees including health care, schools, and distribution of food and clothing aid.
Richard Calder, Jr, president and CEO of GTT, said: "We continue to focus on the delivery of customized network solutions into difficult and sensitive parts of the world requiring telecommunications integrity. This network solution underscores GTT's core competency providing multi-carrier and multi-service bandwidth solutions to customers around the globe with more flexibility than any single facilities-based carrier."
