Green Hills Software Selects Devicescape for Its Proven Wireless Security
Devicescape, the leader in Easy Wi-Fi, and the named “Gold Standard” of Wi-Fi by the Wi-Fi Alliance, today announced a partnership with Green Hills Software, the technology leader in device software optimization (DSO) and real-time operating systems (RTOS). By integrating and reselling Devicescape Easy Wi-Fi with the Green Hills Platform for Wireless Devices, Green Hills provides its customers a complete embedded Wi-Fi solution that delivers certification and compliance with the latest Wi-Fi industry standards. With this combined solution, Green Hills’ customers can quickly and efficiently develop Wi-Fi products that are secure, seamless and reliable.
According to the latest quarterly report by Infonetics Research, worldwide sales of wireless LAN equipment was up 20% in 2007 from 2006, driven by the increased rollout of enterprise wireless LANs and the ubiquity of WLAN enabled mobile devices. Indeed, network connectivity in embedded devices has become extremely common. A wide range of devices — gas pumps, traffic lights, industrial controls, patient monitoring equipment, and vending machines — now connect to the Internet or private networks via Wi-Fi. With Devicescape embedded into the Green Hills Platform for Wireless Devices, developers now have a complete Wi-Fi reference platform for building electronic devices that incorporate the latest wireless LAN (WLAN) interfaces.
“We are partnering with Devicescape because their technology sets the benchmark for the industry and our customers want and deserve the very best,” said Dan Mender, vice president of business development, Green Hills Software. “By providing our customers with a proven, secure and reliable Wi-Fi solution with Devicescape in our Platform for Wireless Devices, Green Hills Software’s customers can develop industry leading WLAN solutions with assured Wi-Fi compliance and certification.”
“We are pleased to have the technology leader in embedded systems software deliver our technology to their customer base,” said Dave Fraser, CEO of Devicescape. “With Devicescape Easy Wi-Fi, Green Hills’ customers are able to quickly and inexpensively deliver secure and reliable Wi-Fi enabled products. We look forward to seeing what new products and advances will be developed as a result of our partnership and Green Hills’ continued success in delivering comprehensive solutions to the embedded market.”
