LANHAM, Md., June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Vocus, Inc., a leading provider of global leader in on-demand software for corporate communications and public relations, announced today that the National Retail Federation has selected Vocus software to help automate and manage its public relations. The National Retail Federation is the world's largest retail trade association, with membership that comprises all retail formats and channels of distribution including department, specialty, discount, catalog, Internet and independent stores as well as the industry's key trading partners of retail goods and services. NRF represents an industry with more than 1.4 million U.S. retail establishments, more than 20 million employees -- about one in five American workers -- and 2002 sales of $3.6 trillion.
According to Scott Krugman, vice president of public relations, National Retail Federation, he had used other products in the past, and he found that Vocus software was the most comprehensive software solution designed to meet all of his communication needs.
"Vocus enables us to use one product to manage all aspects of our public relations activities," said Krugman. "One of the biggest advantages for us is we can now electronically receive and automatically store all of our news clippings and they are all available at our fingertips for viewing, printing, analyzing and sharing with others. I am really excited about the ability for us to easily report on and analyze our news coverage, as a means of proving our value internally."
Vocus provides an integrated on-demand software suite for PR professionals. The Vocus on-demand software suite manages media and analyst relationships; interactive email campaigns; projects and news; files, documents and other collateral; and online newsrooms. The software also analyzes media coverage and other PR information to provide real-time feedback on the effectiveness of PR campaigns and early intelligence on trends unfolding in the press.
"Corporate communications departments are always looking for ways to improve efficiency and share relevant information both internally and externally," said Rick Rudman, president & CEO of Vocus, Inc. "Our integrated on-demand software suite delivers those benefits and more as we move further into the digital communications era."
