Humana Military Healthcare Services Receives Second Consecutive Web Marketing Association Award
Humana Military Healthcare Services (HMHS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), recently received the Health Care Standard of Excellence award for outstanding achievement in web site development from the Web Marketing Association's 2008 WebAwards. Now in its 12th year, the WebAwards is the premier annual web site award competition that names the best web sites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all web site development.
"We are honored to accept this award and continue our tradition of excellence in providing our customers with a user-friendly and trustworthy web site," said Dave Baker, president and CEO of HMHS.
HMHS, headquartered in Louisville, KY., has been a Department of Defense contractor for the administration of the TRICARE program since July 1, 1996. In August 2003, HMHS was awarded the contract to provide health benefits support and services to approximately 2.8 million active duty and retired military and their eligible family members in the 10-state South Region. HMHS was also awarded the Department of Defense's contract to provide healthcare services and support for active duty service members and their families located in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, in February 2004.
Founded by the Web Marketing Association in 1997, the WebAwards is the standards-defining competition that sets industry benchmarks for the best web sites based on the seven criteria of a successful web site.
The goal of the WebAwards is to provide a forum to recognize the people and organizations responsible for developing some of the most effective web sites on the Internet today. Beyond validation, entrants benefit from a web site assessment by a professional judging panel, which provides specific feedback on how each site ranks against standards of excellence.
