ROCHESTER, N.Y., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Performance Technologies , a leading developer of communication platforms and systems, today announced that Carrier Management Systems, Inc., (CMSI) has selected the company's PCE385 T1/E1 adapter card and integrated NexusWare(R) WAN HDLC software to run CMSI's newly launched NAMS(R) Firefly product. NAMS (Network Analysis Management System) is an integrated hardware and software system that gives telephone companies total network visibility by automating normally tedious and laborious tasks such as data collection, optimized network usage, fraud prevention, and revenue assurance.
CMSI's goal in developing the Firefly product was to provide superior telecommunications solutions for real time call record searching and accounting, traffic engineering, and fraud detection. CMSI was exploring a number of vendor options for their new product and after extensive testing elected to use the PCE385 T1/E1 adapter card. CMSI engineers are convinced that the stability of the PCE385 and the easy to use API will provide a long term SS7 interface for the NAMS Firefly platform.
The PCE385 is designed for both PSTN and IP telephony systems built on PCI Express(R) servers. Performance Technologies' field-proven NexusWare WAN HDLC software provided a tightly coupled solution with the PCE385 that enabled data to be easily transported from the TDM streams to the server. Through the easy-to-use API and toolkit provided with NexusWare WAN HDLC, CMSI's NAMS Firefly application was enabled to perform at optimal efficiency.
"We contacted Performance Technologies because of their hardware and software expertise and knowledge of the industry. After interoperability testing and building a solid business relationship, Performance Technologies was able to meet our hardware and software compatibility needs and aggressive product launch timetable," said CMSI CEO Paul Bilberry.
"Working with CMSI is a perfect example of our integrated approach of combining hardware and software to the embedded systems marketplace that enables OEMs needing rapid development and delivery to meet their objectives," said Ed Bizari, vice president of marketing and sales at Performance Technologies.
