Alltel Wireless Recognizes Supply Excellence Through Its ‘Supplier of the Year’ Award

Alltel Wireless, America’s largest network, has announced its top-performing suppliers through its fourth annual “Supplier of the Year” awards. The top suppliers were identified through an array of performance metrics from Alltel’s award-winning Supplier Management Program. Criteria for winning include: delivery performance, quality and reliability, cost, aligned business objectives and relationship.

“These companies have shown sustained commitment to excellence in product or service and are a material part of the market-winning success Alltel has established,” said Scott Searls, senior vice president procurement and logistics at Alltel Wireless.

The 2008 Alltel Supplier of the Year Award categories and winners are:

Telecom Network Infrastructure

Motorola Corp., known around the world for innovation in communications, secured the best overall provider of high quality gear through intimate customer focus and superlative execution on numerous critical technology upgrades.

Integration Services

Cellxion Inc., largest telecom shelter manufacturer in the world, partnered with Alltel to create a seamless end-to-end shelter fabrication inventory and manufacturing planning environment that more than doubled inventory efficiency and ensured on-time delivery.

Mobile Devices

LG Electronics Inc., provides over half of Alltel’s handset offering with innovative, attractive design, lifestyle enabling features and high quality devices that continue to be a significant part of Alltel’s growth.

Mobile Device Accessories

Xinxiu, based in China, provides Alltel with the highest quality plastic and leather mobile device cases through fashionable designs, total customer commitment and flawless delivery performance.

Information Technology

Comverse Inc., a leading provider of software and systems enabling network-based messaging and content value-added services, delivered outstanding support of high quality goods, service and availability in the rapidly growing PrePaid product line.

Mobile Applications

MobiTV Inc, the first global mobile television and digital radio service provider, provides Alltel the mobile application service delivery platform and ensures a fresh, competitive and flexible TV and music services offering.

Telecom Services

AT&T Inc., a Fortune 500 telecommunications company, provided innovative cost management, network quality and attention to detail. The company’s highest level of responsiveness, service and overall network integrity made AT&T a significant contributor to Alltel’s success.

Local Exchange Services

Embarq Inc., based in Overland Park, Kan., offered a rapid fiber-to-the-cell-site initiative, which enabled high quality and capacity efficient network transport. That initiative, coupled with a great working relationship, made the year.

Indirect Services

FM Facility Maintenance Inc., provides the highest levels of responsiveness, cost management and visibility, and overall quality to servicing the total range of expense, maintenance and repair for Alltel’s retail stores.
