Emperion Deploys Wavion WBS-2400 Base Stations Throughout Nigeria

Wavion, an Israel-based provider of Wi-Fi base station, and Nigerian internet service provider Emperion of Lagos, a fully-owned subsidiary of Emperion Denmark, have announced the deployment of Wavion WBS-2400 base stations throughout Nigeria.

According to Wavion, its WBS-2400 base station will deliver high-speed internet access (Wi-Fi) to large and small towns, as well as rural villages in Nigeria. Its WBS-2400 beamforming base stations are claimed to provide extended range and throughput and enables quality Wi-Fi connectivity to standard clients such as those embedded in laptops and other computers. Wavion's Wi-Fi base station is claimed to triple the coverage and double the capacity in comparison to standard access points.

Sandeep Jayaswal, managing director of Emperion, said: "This is the first nationwide deployment in Nigeria targeting Internet services under one umbrella. Emperion Franchise, through its Hot Zones program, aims to provide low cost, quality Internet services working with local partners all over the country. This franchise program is a revolutionary concept that will make Internet available to the Nigerian public all over the country."
