Exar to Showcase Wide Range of Products – Demonstrate Wireless UART at Electronica 2008 in Munich, Germany
FREMONT, Calif., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Exar Corporation will be showcasing its Communications, Power Management, Storage and Interface products in addition to the first public demonstration of Exar's wireless UART solution at electronica 2008 in Munich, Germany. Exar products can be seen November 11 - 14, 2008 in Hall A4, Booth 133. These products and the demonstration highlight Exar's continuing focus on product innovation, leveraging its proven analog and mixed-signal technology heritage.
Product and Demonstration Details
Power Management: Exar's SP7600 high power step down LED driver and its evaluation board will be showcased. The SP7600 is the highest current single chip switching buck LED driver on the market and is capable of driving LEDs up to 2Amps. Featuring an integrated MOSFET and an input voltage range up to 29V, it is designed to accommodate small space requirements. The SP7600 meets the needs of the latest high current LEDs found in most retail and architectural lighting systems which typically use 12V or 24V power sources. New consumer electronics devices can also find a use for this high current LED driver, such as the latest LED compact projectors.
Storage: Part of Exar's EXstor(TM) storage product portfolio, the recently announced XRS10L620 is Exar's first host controller solution. In addition to the device, a XRS10L620 evaluation board, a USB/eSATA reference design, and a four-channel MPEG4 standalone Digital Video Recorder (DVR) system will be on display.
Interface: Exar's wireless Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) solution -- the XR18W750 wireless UART controller, and the XR18W753 -- a RF (868MHz to 956MHz) transceiver will be demonstrated for the first time publically. It will be a point-to-multipoint configuration implementing wireless data collection from portable temperature sensors. This serial cable replacement solution can wirelessly collect data from multiple standalone terminals and route it to a central data concentrator. It can also be configured in wireless point-to-point mode which shows its RS-485/RS-232 cable replacement capabilities.
A short video summary of Exar's displayed products and the wireless UART demonstration will available to booth attendees. Shown on a 42-inch LCD screen, it will highlight key product features, benefits, plus reference designs and a range of targeted applications.
