Digitalpaperwork Names Jamie Waller President

November 6, 2008

Digitalpaperwork(DPW), the leading provider of digital pen and integration technology to the health and financial industries, today announced that it has successfully completed the search for a new President to lead the company through its next phase of significant growth and development. Digitalpaperwork leads the business process of using digital pen and paper technology to capture handwritten information, transfer it into digital form and utilize the data to initiate real time workflows.

Effective November 2008, Jamie Waller will join Digitalpaperwork as President and General Manger reporting to the Chairman and CEO, Jay N. Whipple III. As an Internet pioneer and seasoned industry executive, Mr. Waller will focus on managing the rapid and continued growth of DigitalPaperwork’s core offerings: Digital Pens for business, Pen generated data transport and integration and the cloud based DPW Warehouse for pens and other devices. Additionally, he is tasked with building the scale and functionality to accommodate rapidly accelerating growth.

“We are delighted to have been able to attract a person of Jamie’s caliber to lead our organization,” said Mr.Whipple, CEO of Digitalpaperwork. “The significant executive management, operating skills and marketing experience he brings, along with his deep understanding of our target markets, assures me that this important leadership position is being filled by the right person at the right time.” Whipple, a well known venture capitalist and technologist founded Security APL and sold to Checkfree in 1996. “As we appear to have “crossed the chasm” with digital pens for businesses, we are thrilled to be working with Jamie again as we build out the mass adoption phase.”

The appointment of Mr. Waller solidifies DPW’s role as the premier provider of digital pens, tablets and forms integration services. Founder and Vice Chairman, Loren Ball, “We welcome Jamie to our team. I have known him in our past lives in financial services and was impressed with the way he drove adoption of the Separately Managed Accounts (SMA’s) Industry.” Mr. Ball continues to focus on strategic development, partnerships and acquisitions. “We are at the inflection point of mass adoption and I could not be more excited about our opportunities.”

The appointment reunites Mr. Waller and Mr. Whipple as Internet pioneers. In the 1990′s, Whipple and Waller’s firm, Security APL was the first firm to offer free 15 minute delayed stock quotes on the Internet. From 1993-1996 their site was in the top ten most visited sites worldwide. They also were the first firm to facilitate a stock trade over the public internet. Security APL led the systems development of the SMA industry, which now has over $700 billion in assets under management. After the successful sale of Security APL, Jamie joined Citigroup Asset Management and helped launched the Unified Managed Account (UMA) which has usurped the SMA industry as the defacto solution for wealth management, and retirement solutions.
