Kaplan Continuing Education Launches New Online Cisco Certification Programs

Kaplan Continuing Education (KCE), a leading provider of online continuing education, today announced the launch of two new web-based certificate programs -- Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) and Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) -- designed to provide students with the knowledge required to achieve Cisco certification as well as in-depth knowledge of Cisco network design.

"We offer a full suite of information technology programs so this is a natural extension of our product line," said Ronald Trautman, President of Kaplan Continuing Education. "Continually advancing your skill set is essential to remain competitive in the Information Technology industry. Our online programs are ideal for working professionals seeking career advancement and industry-specific credentials because they provide the flexibility needed to fit their busy schedules."

KCE's six-month CCDA certificate program is designed to prepare students for Cisco certification exams and to qualify them for design-level jobs in the IT networking departments of private, public and non-profit companies and organizations. The CCDA is a prerequisite for CCDP certification. The coursework is meant to provide graduates with a foundation of network design for the Cisco converged network, fundamentals of implementing VLANS, configuring wireless client access and configuring security features in a switched network.

The six-month CCDP certificate program is an advanced professional certification designed to provide students with the sophisticated concepts and principles of Cisco network design and to prepare for Cisco certification exams. It is ideal for professionals already working in the IT networking industry seeking the skills needed to perform advanced Cisco network design in complex, multi-layered systems within businesses. EIGRP operations implementation, multi-area OSPF operations and integrating IS-IS are covered, as well.

The CCDA and CCDP programs follow the July launch of three other KCE Cisco certificate programs: a Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) certificate, Cisco Certified Network Assistant (CCNA) certificate and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certificate, which prepare students for positions as systems engineers, systems administrators or information security specialists, respectively.

KCE's Cisco IT training is instructor-facilitated, self-paced and accessible virtually anywhere and anytime. The Kaplan Continuing Education certificate programs offer online career education and training to professionals looking for a real-world education coupled with the benefits of e-learning.

Enrollment begins immediately. KCE carefully monitors student-faculty ratios to facilitate learning and peer interaction. For more information about the KCE Cisco certification programs, visit
