Harris Stratex Develops Asset and Inventory Management Program for Zain

Posted on: Tuesday, 11 November 2008, 15:00 CST

US-based Harris Stratex Networks has put into production for mobile operator Zain Kuwait an asset and inventory management program designed to enable the company to maximize its telecommunications networking investment and optimize service to customers.

According to Harris Stratex, this new project will expand the OSS initiatives of Zain Kuwait. Harris Stratex Networks will deliver the new, expanded services, which will enable Zain Kuwait to review the location and status of telecommunications infrastructure, power supplies, antennas and other equipment throughout the network.

The OSS project was implemented by Harris Stratex Networks in conjunction with the Martin Group.

Khaled Al Hajeri, chief technical officer at Zain, said: "We worked with Harris Stratex Networks to manage inventory and track calling patterns and throughput across our network. The data we collect is valuable for our decision-making process concerning network upgrades, enhancements and expansion. This solution provides a comprehensive asset and inventory management system-coupled with the ability to provide guidance on usage across the network and site-by-site."
