ScriptLogic Delivers Support for SMB-Focused Windows Essential Server Solutions

November 12, 2008

ScriptLogic(R) Corporation, a leading provider of systems lifecycle management solutions for Microsoft Windows-based networks, today announced ScriptLogic’s support for both Windows Small Business Server (SBS) 2008 and Windows Essential Business Server (EBS) 2008, in particular highlighting its Desktop Authority(R) product line as an ideal solution for the Windows desktop administrator in a small or medium-sized business (SMB). Through ScriptLogic’s “Point, Click, Done(R)” interfaces, IT administrators achieve lower total cost of ownership while increasing IT department efficiency and end-user productivity.

“ScriptLogic products have been deployed by thousands of small-to-medium sized businesses, and those customers rely on our solutions to help with mission-critical strategic IT initiatives, such as compliance reporting and overall IT security,” said Nick Cavalancia, vice president of Windows management at ScriptLogic. “We are supporting the new Windows offerings targeting SMBs immediately, so ScriptLogic customers can take advantage of our solutions in environments powered by the new Microsoft products.”

The two new Microsoft server products are ideal for smaller enterprises: Windows Small Business Server 2008 is for businesses with fewer than 75 PCs, and Windows Essential Business Server 2008 is for businesses with up to 300 PCs. With ScriptLogic’s support, customers on the new Microsoft solutions can adopt ScriptLogic’s award-winning technology.

ScriptLogic’s flagship desktop configuration solution, Desktop Authority, manages desktops from their initial deployment until they are decommissioned. By integrating configuration, inventory, reporting, patch management, anti-spyware, device lockdown, power management and remote management into a single solution, even a one-person IT department can efficiently and effectively manage the desktop environment from a single console.

ScriptLogic also offers server management products that streamline a variety of IT functions, from server migration to reporting on security permissions and other settings across Windows servers. ScriptLogic also sells solutions to manage Active Directory security and Group Policy, with centralized event auditing, recovery and Group Policy management.

“Microsoft is pleased that ScriptLogic’s solutions can help IT administrators using SBS and EBS streamline their desktop management needs,” said Russ Madlener, director, Windows Server Group, Microsoft Corp. “IT administrators can manage desktop configurations, security settings and a host of other workstation characteristics from one central location, saving them time and improving a company’s overall security posture.”
