Occam Networks, a US-based provider of broadband access products, has launched its new BLC 6012i high capacity chassis. This new product is claimed to improve and simplify installation, reduce turn up time and integrate the company's Intelligent Blade Interconnect Architecture connections into its backplane.
According to the company, holding up to 12 BLC 6000 blades, service providers can deploy any current model blade, in any slot and in any configuration while supporting up to 1536 subscribers depending on the mix of blades used. The 6012i chassis integrates cabling on the backplane of the chassis for added reliability and service integrity. The chassis includes 20 ethernet ports located on the rear of the unit.
Juan Vela, director of solutions marketing and strategy at Occam Networks, said: "The BLC 6012i integrates several important advances that help service providers improve the reliability of their networks as well as scale their networks more easily. Additionally, the distributed intelligence architecture that is featured in this new product offers service providers the simplicity and ease-of-use that characterizes Occam's complete Broadband Loop Carrier system."
