Flash Expected To Hit iPhones, Others Next Year
Adobe Systems and chip designer ARM holdings will bring together better Web services to ARM-powered devices including cell phones.
Adobe, a U.S. based company who makes Internet video software, will optimize its Flash Player 10 and Adobe AIR for mobile based phones on ARM processors.
Cell phones like Apple’s iPhones will be able to view websites that use to be hard to access and not work.
"It’s all about bringing the Internet experience everywhere," ARM’s marketing chief Ian Drew told Reuters.
Handset makers like Nokia, Samsung, Apple and Blackberry all have processors designed by UK-based ARM inside their devices.
Monday, a statement by two of the companies was released stating a series of ARM based processors for cell phones, set-top boxes and other devices adapted for Adobe’s Flash 10 and AIR should be available in the second half of 2009.
Chipmakers like Texas Instruments, Nvidia and Freescale all endorsed the collaboration.
