Leverage Inc. Announces a National Fundraising Program Providing Charitable Organizations With a Turnkey Solution to Raise Money Through Online Gift Card Sales

Posted on: Monday, 1 December 2008, 07:00 CST

SANTA ANA, Calif., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Leverage(R) Inc., a leading provider of online gift card services, today announced a national fundraising program that provides charitable organizations with a cost-free turnkey solution to generate revenue through gift card sales to supporters. The new program enables consumers to support their favorite charitable organizations simply by making their gift card purchases online at LeverageCard.com.

The fundraiser is simple to launch and easy to market. Leverage provides each fundraising partner with a customized marketing kit including materials needed to publicize the program both off and online to their supporters. Organization websites can display a banner which directs consumers to a personalized LeverageCard.com landing page where they may purchase a gift card from a selection of over 200 leading retail brands. Fifty percent of the net profits of gift card purchases made by an organization's supporters through the site will go directly to that charity. Once the supporter has designated their charity of choice, the net revenue generated from that supporter's gift card purchases over the entire year will automatically go to their chosen organization.

The Leverage program is flexible and can either be used alone or as a supplement to existing fundraising programs as it helps increase an organization's charitable donations without any extra work, costs, or risk. The Web-based program is much more efficient than traditional merchandise fundraising as it eliminates the need for the organizations to undergo the labor intensive process of gathering orders and payments and then distributing the purchased goods.

"With the fragile economy, money earned through fundraising efforts is more crucial than ever to nonprofit organizations and Leverage has provided an innovative model that allows charities to raise funds on a constant basis so they are not solely dependent upon that one-time annual donor," stated Mark Edward Roberts, CEO and co-founder of Leverage Inc. "It's a win-win for both the charity and the consumer with the charities getting an additional no-cost source of income and the consumers able to give to their favorite causes while purchasing the gift cards they would likely be buying anyway. Supporters can also take advantage of all services Leverage has to offer, including gift card bankruptcy protection, card swapping abilities, receiving customized coupons and much more."
