Five Security Officers Killed in Railway Attacks in Eastern Turkey

Bingol, 2 July: Five security officers died after a train derailed near Suveren station in eastern city of Bingol due to an explosion on the railway on Saturday [2 July], Bingol Deputy Governor Fikret Zaman said.
Zaman told an Anatolia correspondent that eight people were injured in the blast that occurred when the train, en route from eastern city of Elazig and eastern town of Tatvan, was near Suveren station.
The injured were being hospitalized in Bingol, said Zaman.
Zaman noted that another train was sent to the scene of the blast for rescue operations, but this train also derailed due to an attack.
