Crossbeam to Participate in Westcon's SecurityPoint Program

BOXBOROUGH, Mass. and SAo PAOLO, Brazil, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Crossbeam Systems, Inc. today announced that it has extended its distribution partnership with Westcon Group, the leading distributor specializing in networking, convergence, security and mobility, into the Brazilian market. Under the terms of the agreement, Westcon Brazil will offer Crossbeam's X-Series Next Generation Security Platform to its established base of resellers, systems integrators and service providers. The partnership follows on the heels of Crossbeam's recently announced expansion into the Latin American market with new operations in Sao Paulo, Brazil (http://www.crossbeam.com/company/press_releases/press_release_08_12_08.php).

"Crossbeam's ongoing success with channel partners worldwide provides the perfect platform to launch our activities in Brazil," said Rogerio de Campos Morais, Crossbeam's general manager of Latin America. "The strength of Westcon's Brazilian channel relationships, product expertise and sales support will significantly accelerate the adoption of Crossbeam's Next Generation Security Platform in the region. Additionally, we are very pleased to be participating in Westcon Brazil's SecurityPoint program."

Crossbeam solutions enable customers to consolidate their security infrastructure on a scalable, carrier-class platform that virtualizes the delivery of best-of-breed security applications, including those from Check Point, IBM Internet Security Systems (ISS), Imperva, Trend Micro, Sourcefire and Websense. Crossbeam's X-Series is the highest-performing security platform, tested to wire-line rates of 40 Gbps with ultra-low latency, providing unprecedented levels of scale and flexibility to support the security requirements of large enterprise and carrier networks.

Westcon Group has been operating in Brazil since 1998 and recently expanded its infrastructure to include additional sales, product management, finance and operational capabilities. Westcon has been carrying security solutions for well over a decade and its SecurityPoint program--which consists of best-of-breed vendors, development tools and product information--is offered in many regions around the world. Westcon Brazil provides a comprehensive network security solution program that sets a new standard of excellence by combining the most prominent names in network security-based solutions with advanced reseller and integrator support.

"The partnership with Crossbeam is a great complement to our portfolio of best-in-class network security products as well as our SecurityPoint program," said Otavio Lazarini, general manager, Westcon Group Latin America. "Crossbeam's ability to consolidate security infrastructure within high-performance enterprise environments provides Westcon resellers and integrators with the flexibility they need to deliver differentiated, targeted security solutions to their customers."

"We are pleased to see that Westcon is offering state-of-the-art solutions, such as Crossbeam, to its resellers," said Rodrigo Otavio L. de Almeida, executive manager for Contacta, a Brazil-based reseller specializing in security systems.
