Omaha Public Schools Selects Infinite Campus Student Information System

Posted on: Tuesday, 16 December 2008, 10:15 CST

BLAINE, Minn., Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Omaha Public Schools (OPS), serving approximately 47,000 students, selected Infinite Campus as their district-wide student information system. OPS will be implementing the Infinite Campus District Edition, a fully integrated, comprehensive, web-based system.

"Our previous system could no longer meet our needs for parent communication, data analysis and ease of use. We needed an integrated data management system that included special education, elementary grade book and a parent portal for access to information in real time," said Matthew Ray, OPS project manager for Infinite Campus. "After a thorough review of the product capabilities, Infinite Campus was the clear choice for our district."

Essential criteria for the selection included scalability of the system, so it would grow with the district and the availability of maintenance and support. Infinite Campus has a proven record working with districts of all sizes, and training and support have consistently received high marks from other customers.

Computer Information Concepts, Inc. (CIC), an Infinite Campus Channel Partner based in Greeley, Colorado, will provide service and support for OPS. "CIC is very pleased that Omaha Public Schools chose Infinite Campus," said Steve Bohlender, CIC Executive Vice President. "Along with many other district benefits, the ability to keep parents and students informed was a primary consideration in the decision. The Campus Portal will give parents and students 24/7 access to information about grades, assignments, attendance, and more."

Teachers have also expressed enthusiasm for Campus. Having the ability to enter assignments and grades from the comfort of home is a real asset. They will have secure access to important student information to manage lesson plans, and they will enjoy increased communication with parents, so there will be no surprises at conference time.

OPS is scheduled to go live on Infinite Campus in the summer of 2009.
