TOGAF(TM) Version 9 to Debut at 21st Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference San Diego

The Open Group to Host Two New Conference Series in San Diego: Security Practitioners Conference and Enterprise Cloud Computing Conference

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral consortium focused on open standards and global interoperability within and between enterprises, today announced the plenary agenda and preliminary lineup of speakers for its 21st Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference, to be held February 2nd -4th, 2009 at the Marriott Mission Valley in San Diego. In addition, The Open Group announced two new conference series debuting in San Diego: the Enterprise Cloud Computing Conference, to be held February 3rd , 2009; and the Security Practitioners Conference, to be held February 4th -5th, 2009.

The Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference will feature the formal launch of TOGAF version 9, the popular enterprise architecture framework, on Monday, February 2nd. TOGAF 9 introduces significant enhancements to the previous version of the standard, which will be showcased in detail by some of the top TOGAF experts and trainers in the world. Chris Forde, chair of The Open Group Architecture Forum and VP technology integrator at American Express, will kick off the day by delivering a plenary presentation about the value of TOGAF. The conference's second day will further explore TOGAF, using real-world case studies to showcase some of the successful outcomes of using the standard. Parallel tracks at the conference will feature sessions devoted to further examination of enterprise architecture, including sessions about ArchiMate(R), The Open Group's open and independent modeling language for enterprise architecture.

The Open Group will also debut two new conference series in San Diego: the Security Practitioners Conference and the Enterprise Cloud Computing Conference. The inaugural Security Practitioners Conference (SPC) will feature plenary presentations and track sessions presented by industry experts on a variety of security topics, including security architecture; secure software development; and audit and logging. Furthermore, the SPC will feature in-depth focus sessions on cloud computing security and identity in the cloud. These focus sessions will employ a use case format, in order to encourage attendees to play an active role in developing requirements for information security within cloud computing.

The Enterprise Cloud Computing Conference will be a one-day event dedicated to developing an enterprise perspective on cloud computing. Industry leaders, including invited speakers from Amazon, Google and IBM, will discuss key topics including the cloud computing service model, the need for standardization and cloud implementation guidelines and best practices.
