CVB Becomes Largest Rural Wireless Broadband Provider in Placer County

ROSEVILLE, Calif., Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) in Placer County has acquired the Ascendance Wireless Network in Auburn, Colfax-based Foothill Wireless and the El Dorado County operations of the Coastal Web Online Advanced Broadband System Wireless Internet Service.

Central Valley Broadband, a provider of wireless broadband services to residential and business subscribers in secondary and rural markets, has completed and secured financing for a series of acquisitions. The company is using the proceeds to further its growth strategy of rapidly increasing its subscriber base through acquisitions and organic growth.

"CVB has established a leadership position in serving rural markets with wireless broadband services," stated William Lawver, chief executive officer of Central Valley Broadband. "As these communities are often ignored by the incumbent providers, CVB intends to ensure that an attractive menu of broadband services are not only available but also affordable."

Wireless broadband is the most cost-effective means of providing high speed Internet access, which is a necessity in this age when more and more people are working from home, starting small businesses and home schooling kids.

"We have been executing on our growth strategy that combines acquisitions of wireless broadband companies with the organic growth of our subscriber base. With the acquisition of the Ascendance, Foothill and Coastal Web Online, we have completed four acquisitions already. Our first acquisition was Rocklin-based Infostations," Lawver said.

"With these acquisitions, CVB will have the necessary scale to continue our rapid customer growth with an expansion in operating margins. At the same time, we expect to continue to pursue complementary acquisitions that are immediately accretive to earnings. Acquisitions make good sense for us," added William Lawver.
