PXI Systems Alliance Welcomes 14 New Member Companies

Expect to Reach Milestone of 100,000 PXI Systems Deployed by the End of 2009

NIWOT, Colo., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/The PXI Systems Alliance (www.pxisa.org) today announced 2008 as one of its strongest years in membership growth with the addition of 14 new member companies. Demonstrating the PXI standard’s cross-industry appeal, the new member companies represent a diverse set of growing industries, including aerospace, consumer electronics, wireless, and semiconductor. The new PXI Systems Alliance member companies raise the total number of member companies to 59 and help PXI continue its strong global presence with more than a third of the new member companies coming from countries outside the United States, including China, Austria, Israel and Canada.

Additionally, the PXI Systems Alliance today announces PXI adoption is expected to exceed 100,000 deployed PXI systems by the end of this decade (2000 – 2009). This is a major milestone for the open, multivendor PXI standard and represents an estimated 300,000 PXI modular instruments and related devices deployed during the same decade. The open, software-defined architecture of PXI based on high performance PC technology has become the industry standard for automated measurement and automation systems. According to industry analyst Frost and Sullivan, the strong adoption of PXI systems is expected to continue with a projected compounded annual growth rate of 17.6% through 2014. The PXI Systems Alliance members look forward to assisting scientists and engineers with using PXI for their measurement and automation needs in 2009 and beyond.
