Citizens and Knowledge Experts Collaborate to Validate Patent Claims; Focus upon Litigation Surrounding Virtual World and Student ID/Credit Technologies

NEW YORK, Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ — Article One Partners, LLC, a global community working to legitimize the validity of patents, today announced two new Patent Studies driven by litigation and dispute surrounding Worlds.com and JSA Technologies patents. Article One community members – called Advisors – have an opportunity to send in prior art evidence of validity or invalidity for both high profile patents, with the potential to earn up to U.S. $50,000 per study, in addition to premium profit sharing for active participation in the study and community.

“Patent disputes are moving to the courtroom in record numbers, with the cost of litigation typically passed along to the public – in this case impacting those who participate in virtual worlds and online gaming, and students using the campus ID card credit systems provided by their schools,” said Cheryl Milone, founder of Article One Partners. “By presenting the patented information to our community for peer review, we focus a global effort upon the core issue of validity for the patents at issue. If a comprehensive search does not uncover prior art evidence, the patent is intrinsically strengthened. If evidence is discovered and presented, the market can take action to reduce unfair monopolies and overly broad patents. In both cases, resolution can be expedited.”

By tapping the unique knowledge and referral networks of Article One’s Advisors, publicly-available evidence known as prior art can be discovered. Article One analyzes the prior art to determine whether it can show patents to be legitimized or invalid. If Article One forms an opinion of invalidity for either patent study, Advisors earn up to $50,000. Advisors who actively participate in the study and community also earn premium compensation in Article One’s Profit Sharing Plan of about five percent (5%) of the company’s net annual profit. The result is a highly-rewarded community providing a citizen’s review of U.S. patents to justify monopoly pricing for true innovation and energize U.S. patent reform.

Worlds.com Study

This patent relates to computer architecture for a three-dimensional graphical multi-user interactive virtual world systems such as those utilized in Massive Multi-Player Online Games (MMORPG) which provide a graphical representation of the player’s character (avatar) wherein movement of the character in virtual space alters what the character views.

JSA Technologies Study

What to Look For

Advisors have an opportunity to review the Patent Studies posted on articleonepartners.com, and to submit relevant prior art (evidence of publicly available information predating a patent’s invention, which teaches or renders obvious the patent claims). Prior art knowledge and evidence may come from published content anywhere in the world and in any language. This includes: previous patents; news or academic publications; non-digitized documents such as textbooks; or any public document provided to others, including conference or academic papers and business materials. Prior art is often found in documents tucked away in a file cabinet years ago, or in the back corner of a library.

Article One Partners invites all types of people with an interest in science or technology to participate if legally eligible. Members can join from anywhere in the world and from every type of industry and specialty: Engineers; Hobbyists; Academics; Scientists; Students; Professionals; Retirees; Experts and more.
