Mediasite named Best Presentation Tool and Best Mobile Learning Tool

MADISON, Wis., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sonic Foundry, Inc. (Nasdaq: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting and knowledge management, today announced that the readers of Elearning! Magazine named Mediasite the Best Presentation Tool and Best Mobile Learning Tool in the Best of 2008 Elearning! Awards.

"The Best of Elearning! Awards program is the only readers' choice awards in the market. Every brand and product was reader-nominated and the winners are the leading vote earners from each product category," said Catherine Upton, Group Publisher of Elearning! Magazine. "Recognition of this type is increasingly important as more companies deploy e-learning initiatives to impact business and improve efficiencies," concludes Upton.

Readers had the opportunity to provide comments backing up their vote. In the Best Presentation Tool category, supporters of Mediasite offered "end-to-end solution makes recording and posting lectures to the Web simple," "its quality and performance outshine the competition" and "excellent for capturing lectures, preparing multimedia resources with no post-production."

In a recent poll of attendees at the Elearning! Summit, 83 percent of respondents said they recommended e-learning solutions to peers over the last 12 months. And, 61 percent of respondents said "award recognition impacts their decision to consider or purchase from honored vendors." "The Best of Elearning! program offers professionals a reliable resource to learn from users and gather information that influences their future purchases," reports Upton.

Mediasite was also named a finalist in the Best Virtual Classroom and Best Web Seminar Solution categories. Sonic Foundry and Mediasite are featured in the January 2009 edition of Elearning! Magazine. Visit http://www.2elearning.com/ to read the edition.

The patented Mediasite webcasting and content management system quickly and cost-effectively automates the capture, management, delivery and search of rich media presentations that combine audio, video and accompanying graphics for live or on-demand viewing.

"We are so pleased to be honored once again in the Best of Elearning! Awards.
