Mark J. Emkjer Joins the Board as an Independent Director Effective January 13

SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — inContact(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: SAAS), the market leader in on-demand contact center software, announced that Mark J. Emkjer has joined its board as an independent director. He will also serve on the company’s Audit, Compensation and Governance Committees.

Mr. Emkjer has over 30 years of software and information technology experience. From 2003 to 2009, Mr. Emkjer served as president and CEO of Accelrys, Inc., a publicly-traded company providing computational science software to the pharmaceutical, biotech and material science markets. During his tenure, Accelrys significantly improved profitability and cash flow.

Mr. Emkjer has also served as president, CEO and board member for other software-based companies, including: Sunquest Information Systems, Inc., Pace Health Management Systems, Inc. and Hospital Cost Consultants, Inc. Mr. Emkjer holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Science from Florida Atlantic University.
