AT&T Mobility Outlines Plan for Massachusetts Wireless Network Investments in 2009

FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Jan. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- To address the growing demand for advanced wireless data products and services, such as the BlackBerry(R) Bold(TM) and the LG Incite(TM), AT&T Mobility today unveiled its network expansion plans for Massachusetts in the coming year. The company plans to roll out its third generation (3G) mobile broadband network in new communities in western Massachusetts including many areas in Worcester, Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin and Berkshire Counties.

AT&T Mobility's 3G wireless network is available in nearly 350 major metropolitan areas in the U.S. and ranked as the nation's fastest according to recent data compiled by leading independent research firms. By continuing to expand the company's 3G wireless footprint in Massachusetts, the company is offering more consumers and businesses broadband-like speed and access to the latest interactive voice, video and data applications.

This year's plan builds on the company's 2008 investment, which added 3G service to more than 200 cell sites across the state, bringing wireless broadband capability to new areas including Cape Cod, New Bedford, Fall River, Worcester and Springfield.
