Funded by NEC Foundation of America

ENCINITAS, Calif., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The first ever virtual job fair for college students with disabilities in the state of Texas who are transitioning from school to work will take place on February 18, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the disABLEDperson Inc. web portal www.disABLEDperson.com. From the comfort of their dorms or in the library, college students with disabilities who are looking for work can do so with confidence thanks to a grant from NEC Foundation of America to disABLEDperson Inc.

The Texas Department of Rehabilitative Services, the Employer Assistance and Recruiting Network of the U.S. Department of Labor, the National Association of Workforce Agencies and the Social Security Administration are participating in the fair in various ways.

"The goal of the fair is to help reduce the near 37% unemployment rate among college graduates with disabilities by connecting them with proactive employers," states Nicholas Corso, the fair's project director.

As a public service, there is no charge for employer participation. This allows employers with little or no recruiting budget to recruit these skilled workers. Thirty statewide and national employers are registered for the event. Additional employers are welcome. Details and registration link can be found at
