Absolute is now offering its home and home office computer theft recovery and data protection service, LoJack for Laptops Premium, to Best Buy customers. With LoJack for Laptops Premium subscribers can:
- Have the Absolute Theft Recovery Team work with law enforcement to gather evidence and get their stolen computer back - Remotely delete sensitive information - Rest easy with a $1,000 Service Guarantee(1)How Absolute's LoJack for Laptops Solutions Work
LoJack for Laptops is powered by Absolute's patented Computrace technology. The Computrace Agent is virtually undetectable and calls home to the Absolute Monitoring Center with location information. When embedded in the firmware of computers from leading computer manufacturers, Computrace can survive operating system re-installations, as well as hard-drive reformats, replacements and re-imaging.(2) The Computrace Agent can be activated by customers when they purchase a subscription for LoJack for Laptops ranging from 1-4 years.
Backed by the Absolute Theft Recovery Team
All Absolute theft recovery solutions are backed by the efforts of the Absolute Theft Recovery Team. When a computer equipped with Computrace is reported stolen, the Computrace Agent sends a silent signal over the Internet to the Absolute Monitoring Center, allowing the Absolute Theft Recovery Team to forensically mine the computer using a variety of procedures including key captures, registry scanning, file scanning, geolocation, and other investigative techniques to determine who has the computer and how it is being used. Absolute then works with local law enforcement to recover the computer. Staffed by former law enforcement officers, the team finds stolen computers through their relationships with over 1,000 police departments around the world. With over 650 years of combined law enforcement experience, the Absolute Theft Recovery Team recovers an average of over 60 lost or stolen computers on a weekly basis.
