Posted on: Wednesday, 4 February 2009, 06:45 CST

Software company Enforsys offers its proven training expertise to a wider audience of law-enforcement professionals

ROSELAND, N.J., Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading law-enforcement software company Enforsys announces the formal establishment of The Enforsys Institute for Public Safety (EIPS), marking the expansion of the Roseland, NJ company's already substantial role in the design and delivery of professional law-enforcement training.

The Enforsys Institute is helmed by the dynamic combination of former senior law-enforcement leaders and Chief Learning Officer Dr. Edward D. Goldberg, former Chancellor of Higher Education in New Jersey. Dr. Goldberg served as a distinguished scholar in information technology at Seton Hall University and was the founding chief executive of its online campus. The Enforsys Institute for Public Safety synthesizes its experts' first-hand knowledge to offer a total range of top-of-the-line training to law enforcement, fire, and emergency management personnel. The Institute optimizes cost-effectiveness by utilizing e-learning as the primary delivery channel, as well as incorporating face-to-face training and building custom courses that blend elements of both methods.

The Enforsys Institute for Public Safety is offering a set of critically important e-learning courses designed to improve the performance of law-enforcement personnel. Available immediately for agencies' review are two self-paced e-learning courses that cover core training topics for law enforcement officers: "Use of Force" and "Police Vehicular Pursuit." Two additional e-learning modules slated for February 15, 2009 will provide the requisite training on handling domestic violence situations and can be used as part of a blended approach to learning. Rounding out the courses offered are "Problem Solving," "Design of Experiments," "Internal Auditing," and "Identity Theft."

To request permission to review the courses, prospective clients may go to The Enforsys Institute for Public Safety's website (http://enforsysinstitute.enforsys.com) and click the link offering course review. Early feedback from Enforsys' existing software clients shows strong interest in the set of courses and other training services that will be available from the Institute.

Retired Chief William Plate, Jr., COO of Enforsys, offers his endorsement: "Enforsys has always been about helping law-enforcement agencies become more cost-effective. Our software both reduces costs and improves performance. Our new [Institute] will do the same. We expect more and more law-enforcement agencies will turn to Enforsys for solutions which use advanced technology in a very simple and practical way to enhance the knowledge and skills of law-enforcement personnel."
